The Texas Kids

I was one of Vaughn Monroe's original Moonmaids . . . Vaughn was a super boss, who respected us as young, Texas girls with not much experience, but willing to learn his style of music and stage presence. Once again I want to stress that he was a fine man, a gentleman, and a family man. He called us his "Texas kids," and he watched over us. He knew we were small town girls who had little experience with big city folks, or life such as we had in the band. We appreciated that then, and looking back----we appreciate it even more now!
